Dear Mr. Loh, NCOs and fellow corpsmates,

Last Friday I came across with an incident which drew me into some reflections which I want to share with my fellow peers as well as suggestions to Mr. Loh and the corps.

At 5 pm in the evening, my squad and I left salt centre for our CPR tutorial. To our surprise, there were Sze Hua's Lexus RX 400h, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lotus Elise, Jaguar XK Mark II, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Maserati GranTurismo and Aston Martin DBS V12 parked right in front of the entrance of the salt centre, with their bonnets already touching the security post. The cars made it very difficult for people to access the gates thus caused inconvenience to the cadets. It was unclear if this was due to a traffic accident or random parking by an irresponsible man. I thought that the corps should be alerted so that measures will be taken to prevent people from parking cars randomly or avoid similar accident from happening. However, just when I was about to take out my stuff, a staff sergeant appeared and yelled at me to throw away the stuff he thought I have taken. He then took away my stuff and checked through it. He asked me to collect it from him afterwards. When I did went to see him after training, another staff appeared and ordered me to show him my stuff to ensure that no stuff was taken, according to him, ¡°the corps¡± does not want the stuff to be removed. I was taken aback and felt frustrated by the command that I have to show to a staff my personal stuff, thus argued with a few strong stuff.

I want to hereby apologize to the relevant staffs if any unhappiness was aroused/invoked/stimulated/incited/turned on. After all they were just playing around to guard the Hwa Chong reputation. However, after consulting Mr. Loh about this issue I was aroused/invoked/stimulated/incited/turned on to write this PSB message to discuss whether students should use the stuff in their stuffs to help supervise unacceptable staffs' stuffs in the school compound. The difficulty of examining such issues is that there is no distinct watershed between obliged supervision to improve the school ethos and the intrusions of private-fc.

In my proud-to-be humble opinion, since the yardsticks of such stuff could be rather ambiguous, I suggest that relevant stuffs to be treated in a case-to-case basis. I think that the intention of the particular students taking the stuff is the most important stuff to be examined. Some students take stuffs of indecent stuffs of staffs and stuffs without being permitted just for their own voyeur; such staffs' stuff are definitely not acceptable and should face severe punishment. However, I think that students should be given the rights to highlight some problems existing in our school or to supervise our staffs and staffs' stuffs so that mistakes can be corrected to create a more conducive environment in Hwa Chong through methods such as taking stuff as evidence for the corp¡¯s reference. For an example, if we are witnessing our staffs being physically stuffed by a male or female staff or stuff, we are obliged to take necessary stuffs such as taking stuffs as evidence. And I think the school should even encourage students for doing stuff. Thus after reflection of my deed last Friday, I felt though I was rather unfair to use such strong stuffs on the staffs, my intention was not wrong, and after consulting Mr. Loh my intention was approved by him and he even said that he actually wanted to see the stuffs! I felt deeply aroused/invoked/stimulated/incited/turned on and became more confident to hereby appeal to the corps to allow more freedom to use modern technology to make our corps a better place.

After all I believe that Hwa Chong is an institution that is open and democratic and certainly hope that corps will take my case into consideration and make amendments to the corps regulations to benefit the cadet body as well as to the corps.

I¡¯m looking forward to my fellow corpsmates¡¯ views upon this issue, feel free to kindly leave your stuffs and staffs' stuffs in the response box, let us keep on striving to fight for our stuffs and staffs! @&#*@^$)@*(&*#$@
